REF: UCN
Unique Code Number Has Not Appeared (SECRET CODE NUMBER)
CAUSES:
User has not yet satisfied system criteria for message display.
User did not notice UC # message and has discarded it.
The unique code number is delivered in a message called "Notework
Tips" to every user on the system, once they have met the
requirements to receive the UC#. Only the person who has the Miata
card will recognize the significance of the code number. Everyone
else will see the message as just a collection of Notework Tips to
increase their enjoyment of the product.
TECHNICAL GUIDELINES
The rules lay out the official requirements for receiving the
unique code number. What follows is a technical description of what
the program does to insure that the rules are met.
The following must be completed before the Notework UC message will
be sent to a user:
1. At least 7 full (5 days with trials shipped after Jan 10) days must
have passed since the trial was installed.
2. The user must have sent at least 1 message to another user.
3. The user must have received messages from 12 DIFFERENT users. This
includes the initial welcome message from the Notework system. This
also means that if you have less than 11 users installed in the trial
then you will NEVER get the UC#!
4. The user must have unloaded and re-loaded Notework sometime after the
12th message was received and the 5 or 7 day period has elapsed.
(Rebooting will do this automatically)
5. Every user will receive the message from SYSTEM once they have fulfilled
the requirements but only the user with the Miata card will recognize
the special significance of the UC# in the Top Right Hand Corner of
the message.
The UC Message will appear as follows: (Note the UC# at the top
of the message. Your unique UC# will appear where the 123-456-789
appear in this sample)

- Notework Tips -
Congratulations - you are on the way to becoming a Notework Power
User!
Here are some tips that will save you a few keystrokes when using
Notework:
MENU SELECTION
For beginners, Notework menus are set up to require a carriage
return before a highlighted item is selected. This makes it easier
to see what you are selecting before you do it.
To eliminate the need for those extra carriage returns: go to the
Parameter Setup on the Notework Main Menu. Move the cursor to the
Menu Operation choice. Then press the <Spacebar> until the option
reads "Auto-Select". Now move your cursor down to the Permanent
Update Button and press Enter......
.......

If you think that you have already received this message but didn't
copy the code number before you discarded it, check your Undelete
choice on the main menu. Look for a message from SYSTEM in that
mailbox. If you find one, move your highlight bar to that message
and press ENTER. That will undelete the message so that you can
copy down the code number.
CHECK TO DETERMINE IF YOU HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED THE MESSAGE
Login as supervisor. Go to the Notework Directory.
Run NWSTATS /D
This will first give you a report of who used Notework and how many
messages they sent and received. The second half of the report
tells you the date and time when the Follow-up Message was sent.
The Follow-up message refers to the message containing the UC#.
If the words "Not yet sent" appear next to your name, then you have
not yet met the requirement for the UC#. Otherwise, you will see the
date at which you actually did receive the message. If you
received and deleted the message several days ago, then it will no
longer be in your Undelete box. But you can look for someone who has
"Not yet sent" next to their name and ask them to forward their message
to you when they do receive it.
